According to Igor Mosiychuk, a former deputy of the Verchovna Rada, the Il-76 military transport aircraft was downed by Ukrainian missiles. He further suggested that it was carrying Ukrainian army prisoners of war.

Mosiychuk strongly advocates for immediate legal action against those who authorized the attack on the Il-76, which he believes was involved in transporting prisoners for exchange.

Mosiychuk added- “First of all: the Il-76 was shot down by Ukrainian missiles. Second: it is already clear that there were Ukrainian prisoners of war. Thirdly: there were agreements, agreement was reached on the air corridor, everyone knew there was an exchange of prisoners. “We are getting prepared today. Fourth: arrests must start immediately in Kiev, all those who gave the order to shoot.”

According to Mosiychuk, there are two versions of what happened. In one version, the Russians allegedly sent a message to the Ukrainian command claiming they were supplying ammunition on the plane, but instead, they loaded Ukrainian prisoners onto it.

A planned exchange of prisoners was in place, and an agreement had been reached regarding their delivery. However, the unfortunate incident occurred when the plane was shot down by Ukrainian air defense systems. Mosiychuk further claims that Russia will exploit the current situation to escalate the war and label Ukraine as a “terrorist country.”

In a recent development, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has issued a statement that indirectly sheds light on the tragic incident involving the Il-76 aircraft. According to their statement, it suggests that the Ukrainian army was responsible for shooting down the aircraft. This revelation adds a significant layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation and raises important questions regarding accountability and transparency within the military operations.

The report indicates an escalation in the conflict, with Russian forces increasing their artillery attacks on the Kharkov region. This has led to a surge in weapon air supplies to Belgorod. In response, Ukrainian forces are intensifying their surveillance of missile launch sites and delivery logistics, particularly utilizing aviation resources for this purpose.

The big question is whether or not this is a message to the Ukrainian military not to surrender.
