Intelligencer is a news platform and because of the content is not recommended for people under 13 years of age.

How to submit articles & video to Intelligencer

Refer to our Writer’s Guidelines before submitting.

At Intelligencer, we take pride in our selectiveness when it comes to publishing articles. Not every submission makes it onto our platform. Therefore, we encourage you to take the time to explore the articles that have been published on Intelligencer and become familiar with our website. This will give you a better understanding of the type of content we accept. It’s important to note that we cover a wide range of topics and have numerous categories for articles. So, feel free to dive in and discover the diverse array of content available on our platform.

Intelligencer seeks imaginative and talented individuals who fearlessly share their opinions and have the ability to back those opinions with fact. The platform eagerly accepts opinion pieces, new ideas, essays, policy analysis, op-eds, and book reviews.

Successful submissions should align with our preferred style, tone, and subject matter. These include politics, religion, security, health, events, and culture. Although we have a conservative worldview, we welcome and encourage submissions from other perspectives. We believe in real debate and the competition of ideas.

We focus on a few types of content: comprehensive, well-researched articles on significant public matters, as well as concise yet insightful responses to current news stories and opinion pieces.

Additionally, it is helpful for articles to have an internet-friendly style with social media embeds.

We love to see well written, creative, penetrating, insightful, humorous, information, commentary, investigation, and reporting at Intelligencer. We welcome your submission of articles, video, and editorial cartoons.

Research should be rigorous. The writing should be accessible, and the topics should be clearly defined. Intelligencer articles will have an impact on the global community. Commentaries should run between 1000-1800 words, while longer substantive analytical pieces can run up to 3500 words. Investigative long form pieces have more leeway and are approved on a case by case basis.

If your submission is accepted, we will publish it on our webpages and it may be sent in our newsletter. Additionally, it may be featured by TNT Radio. By granting us permission to feature your work, we are confirming that you retain all rights to your content. This means that you can continue to use and distribute your submission as you see fit after one day.

We value and respect the creative ownership of our contributors, and provide a platform that supports the growth and exposure of their work. Thank you for considering Intelligencer as a place to showcase your talent and expertise.
If you want your article or videos to be reviewed for our Featured section, do not send your submission anywhere else until you know whether we have accepted it. We require 48 hours exclusivity for featured articles.

We accept original work you’ve done. Publishing it on your site or blog is fine and we don’t count that as affecting exclusivity. We do insist that you never publish anything which you don’t have written permission to publish.

By publishing, you agree that you have secured any permissions necessary for publication and will take responsibility for any costs incurred if Intelligencer, TNT Radio, or Talking Dog Media is sued because you infringed on copyrighted material without permission.

All this means is taking the time to show professionalism and due diligence with your submissions.

If you consistently submit articles of high quality and consistency, we may elevate to a trusted author submitter. We’re looking for just about perfect records, without problematic submissions that have to be rejected.

Define all acronyms on first use.

Identify all persons quoted including their name, title and affiliation.

Hyperlink to your sources and related relevant content whenever possible.

When applicable, source citations should follow APA guidelines.

Provide quality images. Attach the graphics to your submission email. Include a caption of 15-25 words in complete sentences, cite the source of the graphics and ensure that we have permission to reproduce the graphics online.  There are many sources for images and we can provide them if needed.

Include a two-line biography of the author(s) that includes the author(s)’ name(s), title(s), organization(s), and website(s)/email address(es). This can include two links. One to the author’s website and another to the author’s Patreon or other crowdfunding site provided they provide Intelligencer with a link back from the author’s site. We do believe in supporting our authors.

We’re still a believer in the two sources make one fact journalism rule of thumb. We understand this will make the professional fact checkers wilt, but Intelligencer takes umbrage with political fact checkers who are trying to redefine what the meaning of the word “is” is, or she, or her, for that matter.

We welcome video submissions. We encourage experts to contribute their analysis and understanding, as well as informal video conversations with their peers. This section is tailor made for contributors living through events and reporting them as they happen.

Video articles should be limited to 5 minutes.

Articles must be spell-checked and proofread for grammatical errors prior to submitting to the editor.

Submitting your articles to Intelligencer does not entitle you to any kind of remuneration.

If you want to join us in inciting the return to real journalism, good governance, responsible diplomacy, and above all else, providing facts so people can understand the events going on around them, contact us at editor(AT)intelligencer(DOT)today
