David Tyson, an expert in power grid infrastructure, warns us about the potential risks associated with our aging power grid system. According to Tyson, without taking immediate action to address the vulnerabilities in our grid, we could find ourselves in a dire situation. He strongly believes that if we don’t fix this grid, then we are all at risk of being left in a state of chaos, struggling to cope with the consequences.

Tyson’s concerns are not baseless. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has conducted extensive research and concluded that there is a 12% probability every decade of a substantial solar storm or geomagnetic disturbance capable of severely impacting our power grid. These events, if they were to occur, could lead to the failure of our delicate electronics and ultimately result in a widespread power outage.

Imagine a scenario where our power grid collapses, leaving us devoid of electricity. The consequences would be far-reaching and potentially catastrophic. Public services that rely on electricity, such as hospitals, emergency response systems, and water treatment plants, would be severely affected. Transportation systems would come to a standstill, disrupting the flow of goods and impacting our ability to travel. Communication networks would be compromised, and the very fabric of our modern society would be strained to its limits.

In light of these potential risks, it becomes evident that safeguarding and modernizing our power grid should be a top priority. Investing in resilient infrastructure, implementing advanced monitoring systems, and reinforcing critical components can help mitigate the impact of solar storms and geomagnetic disturbances. By taking proactive measures, we can reduce the likelihood of a catastrophic event and better prepare ourselves for any potential disruptions.

It is crucial for governments, organizations, and individuals to collaborate and prioritize the resilience of our power grid. Only through collective efforts can we ensure a reliable and secure energy infrastructure that can withstand the challenges of the 21st century. Let us not ignore the warning signs and instead work together to fortify our grid, securing a brighter and more resilient future for generations to come.

Brian McClain: We can essentially protect ourselves the same way we utilize surge protectors to protect against lightning in our homes and TVs. Same thing could be done for our sensitive electronics or our substations. We have these massive transformers, and these massive transformers have a 5-year backlog And if the grid goes out, we are essentially facing a zombie apocalypse. And, therefore, we can fix this if our regulators and our legislators will get off their quester and do something. But you mentioned what can we do?

We’ve actually provided a facility on our website at griddownpowerup.com where you can add your home address, a few easy clicks to your mouse, and you can facilitate having a letter written phone calls as well as petitions. to your regulators, utility regulators, your legislators, both state and federal as well as your board of directors to your public utilities.

Thank you, David. So griddownpowerup.com is the website for David, and I highly recommend everybody go out and see it. And if you’ve missed any of our talks with Mike Netter, you’re going to want to go back into the TNT episodes and see if you can find those because we’ve talked a lot about this in the past.

And I tell you what, David, we’re going to have you back on because this is This one’s big for me, David. My dad lives in California. He’s a senior citizen, and he’s had to go literally weeks, sometimes months without power or Internet. I mean, the whole infrastructure there is dangerous. Dangerous for senior citizens, I think.

So, this is a big one for me, and I want to stay in touch with you. Okay?

David Tyson: Look forward to that. Love being on your program. Best to you and your list.

Brian McClain: We are live from Memphis, Tennessee here at Freedom Fest. Some of you, I understand, are listening from inside the building. So, hello to all the listeners out there wherever you may be. This is Brian McClain your host, along with My wonderful co-host,

Lynn Shaw. Lynn, welcome to the State of the Nation. How are you doing today?

Lynn Shaw: I am doing great, Brian. Thank you. How are you doing? It sounds very exciting there. I can hear everybody. A lot of noise, a lot of action. What’s going on there?

Brian McClain: Very exciting. Very exciting. See, a lot of recognizable faces around here. I walked past Larry Elder a minute ago. I saw Brett Weinstein earlier.

It’s been very exciting here at Freedom Fest. So many great booths and so many interesting people and just a vibe, you know, a vibe of freedom and liberty. You just cannot go wrong with that, Lynn.

Lynn Shaw: Well, you know what, Brian? I’m giving you homework as you know I like to do. Not that you don’t have enough to do already, but bring us back also some great guests so we can spread out because, of course, for 2 days, we don’t have enough time to cover all these great people. Bring them back so we can focus and feature them during the next weeks.

Brian McClain: Absolutely. Yeah. We’re going to make some long-term friendships and relationships here and media connections. And speaking of which, I would like to introduce you, Lynn, and you out there listening to David Tyson. Mister David Tyson, welcome to the program.

David Tyson: Glad to be with you, Brian. Glad to be with you.

Brian McClain: Lynn, I heard about David from one of our regular guests, Mike Neder because we speak with Mike Neder about the power grid a lot, especially in California, and he always recommends your film, David. Its grid down power up dot com is the website. So, tell us a little bit about the film.

David Tyson: So just a second on Mike Netter. Mike Netters became a dear friend. I was fortunate enough to be on this radio show for 7 weeks. so it’s been great. But, anyway, this film is entitled Grid Downpowerup, and the website is griddownpowerup.com.

This film is about the vulnerability, the power grid, and what would happen if the power grid goes down for an extended period of time on a coast to coast basis. It could potentially kill as many as  90% of America’s citizens. and the documentary is 56 minutes long. We have Dennis Wade narrating it and he did a phenomenal job. This is not scare porn. It’s very, very scary. It’s very realistic that we actually end the film in a very upbeat manner. because America had our backs up against the wall before. And if we do the right thing as patriots, we can get this fixed.

Lynn Shaw: David, I want to ask you a question.

Brian McClain: What do you think about that? Yeah.

Lynn Shaw: Well, I want to go back for everybody listening. First, I think it’s important to understand why David feels the need to do this film in the first place so the listeners can understand how this is such necessary information, necessary film. to educate the public about what is happening every single day and escalating with the power grid. So, David, why did you want to do this?

David Tyson: So, I did this film then because I recognize I’m really a NASA grandfather. And what that means is my grandkids are 4-3-2-1, blast off, Houston!

    Lynn Shaw: Wow.

David Tyson: If we don’t fix this problem, if we do not fix this grid, then we are all SOL and JWF as George Carlin said in the movie. And I’m not going to use those words because he can’t use those words on the radio. But I’m very concerned that even if you don’t think our bad guys are going to take down a grid, NASA has said there’s a 12% probability every decade that there will be a substantial enough solar storm or a geomagnetic disturbance that will fry the sensitive electronics and knock out our power grid and knock out our electronics.

And therefore, even if I’m lucky enough to survive, you know, a couple decades left that I might have because I’m an older guy, my grand kids are going to be around for a long time. And, therefore, I’ve got to protect them.

Brian McClain: Yeah. Absolutely. And what’s the most important thing for what’s the most important concept that a viewer of your film can take away and what can they do to help?

David Tyson: What they should do is see the film, and we have a 12-minute version that’s really fast. And then I want them to tell their friends and I can guarantee you will be blown away in surprise, and you will be shocked. You’ll be upset. You’re ticked off, and you’re going to be enraged. And then, essentially, this is preventable.

Brian McClain: Thank you so much, David. Wonderful to meet you in person. Looking forward to speaking again. We’ll do it again real soon. Lynn, what do you think about that? Are you going to go out there and check the film out over there at griddownpowerup.com?

Lynn Shaw: Well, not only will I be checking the film out, Brian, I will be sharing it with everybody I know because I think it’s very important that we start really getting the information into everybody’s hands, and we have to, Brian, let them know without shocking them too much because then they close the door and walk away. what a dire situation we are facing.
