NEW YORK, NY, February 29, 2024 – Five presidential candidates are confirmed to take the stage this evening at the Free & Equal Elections Foundation presidential debate in New York City at Chelsea Television Studios.  The debate starts at 8 PM EST and will be live-streamed for the public.

Confirmed candidates include Jill Stein (Green Party), Chase Oliver (Libertarian Party), Lars Mapstead (Libertarian Party), Claudia De la Cruz (Party for Socialism and Liberation), and Jasmine Sherman (Green Party). Invitations were also sent to Independents Dr. Cornel West and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The debate will be moderated by Christina Tobin, founder of Free & Equal Elections, Jason Palmer, founder of TOGETHER! and conservative strategist and former One America News Network correspondent Caitlin Sinclair.  The two-hour debate will kick off at 8 PM EST with Marie Tatti performing the national anthem.  Media partners include Rumble and Crowdpac, Epoch Times, and Pacifica Network. This debate promises to be a cornerstone event leading up to the elections, giving candidates an opportunity to engage with voters and enabling voters to make informed decisions from a broader spectrum of choices.

“For the first time in history, there are more identified independent voters than Republicans and Democrats.  Not since Ross Perot ran for president 32 years ago have we seen an independent candidate polling with such high numbers in battleground states. The makeup of the national electorate has shifted, and presidential debates must reflect that shift to maintain integrity.  At Free & Equal, we are committed to hosting presidential debates that reflect this reality.”

Free & Equal uses the League of Women Voters cumulative debate format to ensure a fair and comprehensive discussion on various issues, allowing each candidate to communicate their stance to the public effectively. Executive Producer Kevin Sanford will produce the debate.  This is the second event of the 2024 Free & Equal Elections Foundation debate series. The series is committed to providing an open and accessible platform for all voices in the democratic process, reflecting the diversity and dynamism of American political discourse.
