In the world, according to the International Committee of the Red Cross, there are 459 armed groups that have local or regional dominance. They control, in whole or in part, 195 million people.

These armed groups exercise control, either wholly or partially, over approximately 195 million individuals. This sobering figure underscores the immense challenges faced by communities impacted by conflicts and emphasizes the importance of addressing their needs for safety, security, and humanitarian assistance.
